It worked properly I left the trailer at the boat yard and they pushed it back without pulling the back up pin out and The brakes held so well that the couple unit twisted it on the trailer The metal is thin in my opinion I do not think without the boat on a 21 foot trailer the coupler should not have deformed
Installation was easy, removing the old one is another story. Well built and the auto latching feature is nice, just drop it on the ball put the lock pin in and go.
I bought the exact same part number as my part but this did not come with the built in back up Solenoid. So I bought it separately and it broke when installing it. The receiver is great but not the same. Be aware
This actuator hitch replaced one from a 28 year old trailer. I couldn't find the exact replacement locally but this one fit the mounting points just fine. It's seems a little thinner than the old one, but I don't foresee any problems with it. The bleeding process was easy too. The only caveat for me is that it's longer than the old one by about 5 inches. That doesn't seem like much in the scheme of a 45 foot long truck/trailer package, but I had to extend the brake line, re- calibrate the trailer assist in my truck, and now it BARELY fits in my garage. Having said that, I'm happy that I was able to find something to replace the old failed actuator hitch. If your trailer is newer you may not have those issues.
